As Damian Lillard stated at media day on Monday, the Portland Trail Blazers have championship aspirations.

But Portland, which reached the Western Conference last spring, is once again overlooked and labeled as an underdog in the title picture according to oddsmakers in Las Vegas and the national media entering the 2019-20 campaign.

“I mean, that’s just the fact of the matter,” Blazers guard Damian Lillard said following the opening of training camp on Tuesday, “we’re always the team that gets counted out. But I think we have to care less about it. Our mentality has to be ‘Let’s win a championship.’ Our actions and standards and our level of accountability has to match up to that mentality.

“As long as we believe in what we have and our process of getting there, that’s all that matters.”

In the video above, hear from Lillard and big man Zach Collins after Tuesday’s practice.
