The Golden Globe Awards, which take place annually to honor the best in film and American television, was held this evening at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. This year marked the 77th Golden Globes and not only was it a star-studded event, but also it was a diamond, gemstone and luxury watch display as well, with hundreds of celebs being outfitted in Harry Winston, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc and other brands’ watches and jewelry.
Helen Mirren nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture wore an incredible $4 million in Harry Winston diamonds. Mirren donned a platinum-set cascading diamond drop necklace that was bedecked with 73.55 carats of diamonds. It was matched by Cluster Diamond Earrings with ruby drops (9.01 carats) and a Winston Cluster diamond ring set with nearly 30 carats of diamonds in platinum. The 120 carats worth of gemstones didn’t seem to weigh her down a bit.
Jennifer Lopez, who was nominated as Best Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture, was also one of the most diamond-adorned person on the red carpet. She wore more than 145 carats of Harry Winston diamonds and Colombian emeralds in the form of a 76.36-carat emerald and diamond necklace, cushion-cut emerald and diamond earrings (7.93 carats), a 1959 vintage diamond bracelet (57.30 carats), and a nearly four-carat Central Park diamond and emerald ring. The extraordinary necklace features 21 Colombian cushion-cut emeralds perfectly matched in color and size, as well as 58 diagonally set pear-shaped diamonds. It is a one-of-a-kind piece that dazzled onlookers and made Lopez look ever more dazzling herself.
Also wearing Harry Winston jewels was Zoey Deutch, whose 110 carats of Harry Winston diamonds and sapphires sparked in an 80-carat necklace set in platinum, a 23-carat sapphire and diamond flower earrings and two rings. Not far behind Deutch was presenter Rachel Weisz, who wore 75.64 carats of Harry Winston diamonds, including a new Fifth Avenue Crossover necklace wit h211 fancy-shaped and baguette-cut diamonds.
The list of Harry Winston lovers goes on and on, and includes Joe King, Lucy Boynton and even Alex Rodriguez who wore Harry Winston’s proprietary Zalium and diamond shirt studs and cufflinks.
Cartier also enjoyed the limelight, with a host of stars wearing its jewelry and timepieces, as well. Annabelle Wallis went all out, wearing a high-jeweled platinum and diamond necklace and earrings, four Cartier diamond rings and two Cartier diamond bracelets, including the beloved Panthere de Cartier with emeralds, onyx and diamonds.
Rami Malek wore a Cartier Tank Solo watch in a large size and also donned the Cartier Juste un Cloe Tie Pin in 18-karat white gold.
Watches Keep Pace
In fact, in terms of watches at the Golden Globes, there were a lot of them worn by big-name celebrities. Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Chris Evans (who also wore Montblanc cufflinks) and Nicholas Braun wear Omega watches. Nicole Kidman’s watch of choice is an elegant 18-karat gold and diamond piece, while Daniel Craig naturally selected a watch that could keep pace with his action roles: the 18-karat 5N rose gold Speedmaster Automatic Chronometer. Both Chris Evans and Nicholas Braun wore De Ville Tresor Co-Axial Chronometer watches.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classic Large Duoface Small Seconds watch — a highly distinctive timepiece — was seen on the wrist of Stellan Skarsgard. The Art Deco style watch offers two different dial sides and is reversible with a simple move.
