The 160,000-gallon pool, which was built in 1960 and opened to the public a year later, has been a community hub for Plano residents for decades. It is open for swimmers from May to September for $10 per person or $30 per family a day. Pool visitors can also purchase a pool membership that ranges between $85 to $235.
This year, the pool opened for the season with tiles that spell at least nine Texas cities’ names at the bottom of the pool, in commemoration of a feature developed for the pool in his earlier days.
