In much the same way that Canelo Alvarez began the DAZN phase of his career, Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin has a perceived soft touch in his first fight on the streaming service. That would be the undefeated but unheralded Steve Rolls. Alvarez dominated Rocky Fielding in his first appearance on the streaming service. It remains to be seen if Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KOs) can do the same vs. Rolls (19-0, 10 KOs), but you can bet he’s going to give it his best shot.
“Steve Rolls, he had good and long career,” Golovkin said. “He’s not a young guy. He’s a smart guy. He’s undefeated. This is more interesting for me, because my focus is on my job. I don’t know exactly, like 100%, [what] Steve Rolls [will do]. Just I know my job.”
But Rolls has an extra motivation this week. He could look at the massive upset pulled off by Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua last week and perhaps say, “Hey, I can do that, too.” After all, Golovkin is 37 years old, and you have to wonder if the two fights vs. Alvarez has slowed him down in the latter part of his career.
“I was all ready to shock the world, the Ruiz victory made everybody understand that anything could happen,” Rolls said. “I’m up next and ready to do the same thing.”
Golovkin vs. Rolls odds
Before Ruiz’s shocking upset of Joshua, Golovkin had been a -10000 favorite against Rolls, who was a +1600 underdog. But those odds shifted noticeably this week, as more of the money has come in on Rolls. First, Golovkin dropped to -7000 favorite. Now, he’s at -3500, meaning you’d have to wager $3,500 to win $100 on a Golovkin victory (it’s not great, but hey, it’s better than wagering the original $10,000 for a $100 win). Rolls, meanwhile, is +1200, which means you’d earn $1,200 on a $100 wager.

Golovkin vs. Rolls prediction
Golovkin has been having a more difficult time beating elite middleweights in the past few years. Just look at his two fights vs. Alvarez and his close win vs. Daniel Jacobs. Yet, there’s no indication Rolls is anything close to elite. Give Golovkin a few rounds to get warmed up, and he’ll knock out Rolls in the fifth. That massive upset lightning will not strike twice in one week.
