New Zealand triathletes Braden Currie and Teresa Adam have gone back-to-back at the Ironman Asia-Pacific Championships in Cairns.

Currie beat Australian Tim van Berkel by nearly 20 minutes in tough conditions, crossing the line in eight hours four minutes 19 seconds.

Adam successfully defended the women’s title in 8:48:33 and five minutes later Australian star Sarah Crowley held off Finn Kaisa Sali by just 14 seconds for second place.
